The Michaud Brothers

Michael Vincent Michaud is notably unique in his process of cast glass, a technique not typically utilized in jewelry design. The cast glass he creates resembles beautiful pieces of natural sea glass, each with their own shape, texture and color. Through this craft, Michael is able to capture bold colors and textures which, when hit with radiant light, make each glass element of the jewelry glisten and glow.Surrounded by the skilled craftsmen at his father’s studio, Michael was inspired by the master craftsmanship of his father, as well as his own true love of “art glass” and the colors of the world around him. He studied extensively with some of America’s finest glass artists at various institutions including the prestigious Corning and Urban glass programs. As a young man, he experienced first-hand the art of creating handmade jewelry and metal objects.

His career began by collaborating with his father, creating glass elements for jewelry collections licensed by The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, The National Gallery of Art in Washington DC and The Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
In 2011, Michael and his brother Shane Michaud launched Michael Vincent Michaud with the Spring 2011 collection of exceptional cast metal and luminous hand-cast glass designs. They are now located in New York under the same studio as their father, working side by side on each of their handmade jewelry lines. Michael Vincent Michaud designs are cast in bronze layered in gold and silver. All the pieces are handmade with care and hiqh quality materials. All of the glass elements for sale are cast or flameworked by hand.
